It is the
rare individual needing an introduction to Vail — the playground of the
rich and famous. Of course, if you have it, it can be a lifetime
experience - summer or winter. The shops here would put Beverly Hills to
shame but they do offer top quality and not just top prices.
Known for its incomparable world-class
skiing and riding, the Vail Valley additionally offers exciting nightlife,
shops, gourmet dining and nonstop outdoor adventures, both summer or
winter. Vail Mountain, 100 miles west of Denver, is larger than nearly
every other North American ski area, and is linked by a network of lifts
and trails. Those same slopes provide the perfect trails for mountain
bikes in summer.

The Vail-Eagle
County Airport is 4 miles west of Eagle, about 20 miles east of Avon,
and about 30 miles west of Vail. This is very mountainous terrain (with
some of the world's finest ski slopes). This is about the only location
they could place an airport to accommodate commercial aircraft.
If you are flying in commercial, we suggest you use the Eagle (EGE)
airport — see:
Eagle. If you would rather save some money
(their skiing is said to be as good as Vail's and the hotels are much
less expensive, see:
